Craftsman Weed whacker repair advice

I have older, but little used, craftsman weed whacker, Model #358.798.120, that just won't run right anymore. It will run, but will not turn up enough RPM to have any power. I think I may know why. I was looking at it today and noticed the foam air filter is missing. Now I'm wondering if some trash has choked up the carb. How hard would it be to take apart and clean.

If it was run without the filter the engine will be packed with debris. Remove the muffler and take a peek into the exhaust port as you slowly pull the rope. If the piston is scored or rocking in the bore, deep six it and buy a new trimmer.

If the piston and cylinder are OK, make sure to clean the muffler ports good while you have it apart.This unit was built in the mid 80's and the muffler may be getting clogged.

How do you remove part#530028799 Drum-Clutch in order to replace the part#530016391 screw-rope onto Part#530071399 kit-pulley(incl 41.) with part#530071325 kit-rope in order to
start the engine on Craftsman WeedWacker model#358.791580. I pulled on it and out it came. Please advise. THANKS!!
