Hi Becky -- Based on the one photo so far in your ideabook, I'm going to suggest you do a search for mylar wallpaper.

I certainly know how it is to be limited when it comes to the funds available to buy items. Is that the old medicine cabinet over the sink? It's really small, and the light fixture is, as well. I imagine that you still need it for storage for the things like toothpaste, etc. Lowe's is a place that has some reasonably priced medicine cabinets, and light fixtures. I think that you need a medicine cabinet that is larger in length, as the old one looks too "dinky" over that sink. If you could budget for it, you could probably get the cabinet, the light fixture, and have it installed-if you need someone to do that-for not more than $300-maybe less if you can find something you like that is on sale or has been discontinued. I was looking for ceiling fans at our local Lowe's, and I found one I like, and the box was damaged. The sales lady looked inside to see if the fan or any of its parts were damaged, but they weren't. She let me have it for half price, anyway, just because of the box-and possibly because having to open it didn't help with its "shelf appeal" from that point. So, to say she made a friend of me is an understatement. :)

No its a mirror that theyve had built into the tiles, with a spot light above it :)

Becky, I would try to find a larger framed mirror and put it over the existing mirror. A small glass shelf over the sink would also give you a place to put things when using the sink. Look for a small narrow shelf only 6 or 8 inches wide and short that would fit under the sink just for small storage items such a couple of rolled up washcloths and handtowels etc. Also look for a new light above the sink. Maybe you could just find replacement glass for the existing light and paint your fixture black or charcoal gray and modern glass shades.

I think those are tiles on the wall? They seem way too dark for the small area. Could you paint them? Or place a lighter color stick on decal on some of them? Mirrors cut that size would be good; you could glue them on. The mirrors would reflect light.
