Pallet Jack Pump Rebuild

I came across a Multiton Type M pallet jack that had been left outside. The pump goes up but won't come down to the bottom. I've never rebuilt a hydraulic pump before and I ordered the rebuild kit. What should I focus on? How does the pump assembly remove? My $10 yard sale find is coming back from the dead for the upcoming wood pellet season! Thanks.

I don't know how much that rebuild kit cost you but you seem to have gotten a good deal.

Company i worked for had one rebuilt ... wow.. was expensive ! but included all new wheel bearings and bushings everywhere too. If only he would have repainted it it would have been like new.
