Leaf Blower/Vacuum

I'm looking for a blower/vac, but really it would be left in the vac mode most of the time.

Is there such a thing as a backpack leaf vac? It seems logical, but I haven't seen one so maybe there's a reason why.

Short of that, what about the Stilh blower vacs? I had an Echo, and although it was a decent blower, as a vac it was clumsy to set up and clogged easily.

I was research into this before. I have not found any bp vac and shred yet. I asked the same question in lawn site and the responds about the SH86 is weak at best. Go to Stihl site and watch the video on the SH86. It is slow. If you have little leaves, it might do ok, if you have lots of leaves, forget it. You better off look at electric leaf shreder.

I gave up after that.

Stihl offers a vac attachment for the BR420 but it is expensive, a pita to install and does not work all that well on smaller leaves such as poplar.

I do not know that. I read people said they have problem with the SH86 that the front crankshalf bearing wear out faster using as shreder.

When I saw the video on Stihl website, it was very slow.

How much is the attachment and how painful to install?
