I was in the Black & Decker outlet store and saw they had a small cordless battery operated chain saw. It would probably work.

Milwaukee makes a very small cordless saw for less than $175 that should be perfect. It's the Milwaukee 2420-22 12-Volt Hackzall Saw Kit.

Or any cordless Sawzall type saws with a pruning blade will work. Do it myself.

The ragged edges from an electric saw may kill some of the limbs and possibly the entire bush. I would use bypass pruners below.

Or borrow a sawzall from a friend if youÂre not saving the bush or not that worried about it. Use a metal blade it has smaller teeth and the bush will jump around less. When we removed hedge roses we tied them up with rope first, to get at the lowest part of the rose without getting stuck by thorns.
