weedeater won't start

weedeater TE400 kept stalling. Figured the carb needed cleaning so I did and discovered my fuel lines had disintegrated. I have reassembled and now can't get it to start. It is flooding, even when I press the primer bulb I can see fuel pouring into the carb- so much it runs out. Does anyone have any ideas on why?

Could the fuel lines be connected backwards? Is the spring holding the fuel inlet valve installed correctly, the pivot for the fuel inlet?
