Craftsman Keyless Entry Pad

OK, maybe this is by design but the keyless pad has me a little worried as far as security goes..

Scenario:

Kid comes home, uses pad to enter garage. Types in code, hits enter, door opens. Later that night, we close the door using the door-bell type button mounted on the wall. If anyone from the outside then clicks the enter key on the keyless pad, the door opens. WOW, had no idea it wouldn't timeout. It remembers that the pad has one more cycle. This seems like a huge security issue. Am I doing something wrong?? Other than having to manually go hit the enter key every night instead of using the one on the wall?

Thanks,

Brian
