When I was a yonker on the farm, my uncle who was a mammoth man, would take them and pass the end closest to the bend down into the rectangular draw bar hitch on the back of our old B John Deere. (The hitch was made so that you could un pin the tongue and move it side to side to hook up easier) and with the end held under the draw bar and the bend approximately on the upper side of the heavy steel hitch assembly, just pull down gentely. Of course he was capable of pulling several hundered pounds of pressure with showing noticible strain. In lieu of this configuration, try a couple of closely spaced wood posts or other similar strong objects (trees???)
