I agree, makes no sence trying to sav $$ and make something work in that area to many problems may arise like belt flying off just to name one.

Yep, i have seen that. And, i did have, or i made, a nightmare of trying to adapt different pulleys, arbors, belts, etc.
I had an old Dynamark garden type tractor. I swore that tractor stretched the belts, because when i tried to reinstall one--it was way too long! Turned out i had it installed wrong.
I had a Simplicity Broadmoor tractor that i swore i had the belt installed the correct pattern, I thought, but it was way too long! Then i was told the correct pattern and it fit well.

Well, he brought the deck up to my place yesterday. It is eggzactly the same as a Craftsman deck, in all aspects, including the cross centering arm at back of deck.
i've fixed a bunch of problems on C-man decks, and i told him he'd might as well bite the bullet and go buy a new spindle assembly! Or two!

Haven't heard from him yet, about what he decided.

Well, twenty minutes ago, that guy stopped in to tell me i had the right idea about the tractor mowing deck.
He said he had ordered both new spindles assemblies, and decided that would be easier and less work! HOORAY!
