Hi Greenhead - the question is what is the acidity of both your water and soil? Do you have any idea what the pH of each is? I would imagine that adding lime---only a small amount at a time--- is perhaps the best remedy. Something like 50lbs per 1000 sq.ft. over a one period is probably adequate unless you have SUPER acidic conditions.
