Given the expense involved in repairs if it is not done correctly, this is usually a job best left to a qualified professional.

Also, the curbless shower in the photo is even trickier to do well. We usually recess the framing at the shower to allow for slope to the drain. I'm assuming that was what was done in this instance.

The best advice is to hire a professional contractor who specializes in "Hot Mopping". The floor definitely must slope towards the center drain. Here is a link to a video that explains the technique. EKA, that is essentially what was done. Instead of lowering the area within the shower, the floor outside of the shower was raised up slightly to create a slope within the shower area.

Thank you for the advise on hot mopping. Does that have to do with the slope of the floor? One more question - what's done under the shower floor to keep it from leaking?
