Why do you think its called a Pull-On?

Seriously, if gas sat in it and went bad the carb may need rebuilding.

Close the choke and pull like 10 times and if you start smelling gas, at least it is not totally block. I think I blown a carb because I use some very old gas.( I was stupid) I happen to have a carb from an old engine, I change it and it work again. There is also a slight posibility gas filter is block also.

Later year Poulan and Homelite two stroke engines are notorious for encountering loose bolts from vibration. While your Husband has the covers off the engine, tell him to check the torx bolts that hold the cylinder to the crankcase. When these bolts loosen from vibration the engine begins to draw fresh air through the crack because the gasket has failed. Most of the time all you need to do is tighten the bolts back up, which pulls the gasket tight and everything is aok. Use some thread locker on the threads if the bolts are loose. I would also suggest that you run a little extra oil in your fuel mix to prevent any scoring which occurs if the engine runs too lean on oil from an air leak. I run all of our two stroke engines at 32:1 rather than the EPA recommended 50:1.
