new gas/oil, now sluggish???

Hello,

I have a homelite backpacker blower which I love and was running great for a year now. I finally ran out of fuel in my 1 gallon container as I only really use the blower in the fall. I have been using it for the past 4 weekends with great power and results. So I went to homedepot and got the 2.6-ounce Exact Mix oil from homelite. I mixed this with 1 gallon of fresh gas and shook for a little bit and let the container settle for like a minute I filled up the tank on the blower and she starts right up and idles fine. Thats where the fun ends.

When I give it some throttle the rpms go up and then it gets sluggish and unrevs until I re-rev the throttle. If I try to keep the throttle 75% open for blowing it starts to almost bog down and then rev up.

WHat could have happend with getting a new, fresh gallon of gas and oil? I would hate the thought of tearing this thing down. :(

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Keith
