We're in the market for a snowthrower - we've only had a couple of shovels up to now.
Today we admired the Snapper 8526E (Briggs and Stratton engine, 8.5HP, $999) or a Ariens 824E (Tecumseh engine, 8 HP, $849).
I'm leaning towards the Snapper since I preferred Simplicity but I've been told that Simplicity makes the Snapper. Also, I like that we can put a headlight on it - seems like it is always dark when we are home.
What would you pick? Or what would you advise on purchasing a ~$1000 snowthrower?
We have mostly wet snow, anywhere from 3-9 inches per storm, a 100' driveway with a curve and generous slope, and our house sits on the corner (the corner gets larger every snowfall).
Thanks for your help - I've already learned a lot on this site.
