I'm wondering if the insecticide was a bit too strong as well as the fertilizer. I always rinse mine off after about an hour. Also, I've noticed that no matter how weak the insecticide is that if there was heavy damage the leaves will still instantly yellow and drop from the wounds being exposed to treatment.

I've also have read that one should wait a few days between treating and fertilizing. I'm guessing it may have caused your plant to go into shock and it's just throwing a tantrum like a kid forced to take cough syrup. However, I think your adenium will recover quite nicely and forget the ordeal it just went though. LOL

I don't think you have to change the potting media. Just flushing is enough. If it gets progressively worse or if you cant help yourself, dig it out and check the roots to see if the fertilizer caused any burns that might have to be excised. Perform the surgery, let it dry overnight. In the meantime, soak the potting media in water then toss the water out. Do this until you get sick of it or until you are reasonably sure you have diluted the fertilizer enough. This process uses up less water than just leaving the thing under running water.

When spraying the leaves with anything, keep it out of direct sun while it dries. Most people will advise rinsing the leaves before putting it back in the sun---I don't bother. In fact, dusk is the best time to spray with soap or oils for bug treatment. That way, the stuff stays there longer (since there isn't any sun to cause burn) and there is (for me) no need to rinse.

So, just out of curiousity, did you trip over the fertilizer bottle? lol

Thanks you two, that is what I was thinking about it just shocking and throwing a fit Kirk, lol. They do that sometimes. I did spray at dusk actually, so it wasn't in direct sun for over 12 hours later. But, if they get irritated they get irritated. I am not even sure I needed to spray is the dumb part.

Ok, grossly over fertilizing may be incorrect, I am not sure but with the reaction I got I think yes, perhaps. I am doing something not may do here I think, but I think it may work better for my situation and is suggested by a reputable grower so I am giving it a try. I have a 6-6-6 (I think, something like that) granular fertilizer purchased from said grower that I decided to sprinkle on all of them very lightly a month ago. I was doing Foliage Pro (and had just started adding ProTekt) one a week prior to that, but with my daily 6 hour rain drench in the summer I have little need to ever water myself and figured the granular really would give some nutrients better than me never fertilizing because they are always getting flushed with rain. It seemed fine for the month but then my house had a freak 4 days without any rain so I seized the opportunity to give it a little Foliage Pro/ProTekt boost when I watered halfway between. I am using a gritty mix in terra cotta pots and with this blazing Florida sun in between the rains they dry out very fast luckily.

What dosage of Foiliage Pro did I use? I can't remember! That is why I thought I perhaps over fertilized, just the added Foiliage Pro itself, or maybe a I used a full whopping monthly dose or something and that was what was too much. I'll probably not know exactly until I do the same things again, just not at the same time. Which I probably will lol. I don't think I burned any roots, but I am keeping my eye on everything for signs of getting worse just in case.
