My Siam Yellow has another flower, and it is even more pink than the first--no yellow, but I like it anyway.

Mine are just now getting nice size buds and the weather is getting cold here in my area. Had to bring them inside, hope the buds stay on and open to beauty like you have.

What subtle beauty! Very nice, well-filled flower! And of course, the caudex - unusual to say the least - how did it get to grow like that? is this fork thickened roots or still part of the stem?

Lena, The forked root system has exposed it self more over the past year.
Between the soil breaking down and the plant growing and pushing itself out of the pot. Needs to be repotted, but not want to disturb until finished blooming.
I cannot take credit for caudex formation. Plant grew this way on its own.

when you repot, how much caudex/roots do you intend to bury under the soil?

I will most likely leave it at the same level or move it up slightly from the level it is at now. I will know better when unpot it.
The shape of the caudex is one we do not control, but I am finding that I like to leave my young plants to grow at the same level without raising when i repot. I like to give them ample room in their pots in hopes that they will grow wider without restriction.
I prefer the shape of the caudex to be either tube shape or better yet in a inverted "V" shape. With the base large and tapering as it gets to the branches.
Not sure how they would do if one was to bury the caudex later in years, may rot?
