Pine Tip Moth

So, I have a couple of 3 to 4 foot loblolly pines in the back yard. This spring was their first real spring after root establishment. They began growing very well for about 2 or 3 weeks until the new shoots began to brown. I've since diagnosed the problem as pine tip moths.

My question is, do I have any hope of promoting new growth again this year, or will I have to wait until next spring? I understand it's best to treat the trees in early spring to kill the larvae of the moths before they begin boring into the new growth? Thanks for any help you can provide.
