With a gray roof, perhaps the khaki is too brown or green, tho your gray roof looks to me to have some brown in it. Pick up some paint chips at your favorite paint store and see what looks like the roof color, then on the same paint chip, pick the color two shades lighter than the roof. Paint a sample of that and see what you think. For your door, look for something in the reddish color of your bricks.

Try just changing the color of shutters to a darker tone of the light window trim. Try a rich brown red for the front door.

What you really need, which will enhance the house and protect the front door from the heat of the sun, is a well place native ornamental tree planted somewhat away from the house. In a few years it should offer enough shade that the door doesn't heat up so much. Also think about planting shade trees in the yard for a long term investment that will pay off in comfort and energy savings in 10 to 15 years. Even if you end up selling the house, most buyers will like the shade trees.

Hi mlmccarty, I like houssaon's red door suggestion, perhaps they can be applied on the shutters as well. as much as you like the khaki siding color, it is too beige and looks really washed out against the red brick. I would recommend a siding color towards a grey tone with a more classic combination.
