I would trust the supplier and go foward as planed and not attempt to amend the soil if it's already planted. IMO,the chips offer more advantage than disadvantage.

Shredded wood is, I think, the major source of composted organics in that potting mix, and nobody seems to sell completely composted bagged stuff, so you'll most likely get un-composted wood chips on the top layer of anything you buy. Consider it a teeny tiny start on mulching.

LOL,doesn't get much easier. Unfortunatly I once sat back to watch new flowers grow in pots of Scott's potting soil and saw nut sage growing as well. Just another reason why making it yourself from local material is worth the effort.

The best I can find out about this product is that it is not a soil but a soilless mix of material. While OMRI certified it does have restrictions.

What I see is that this should be mixed with soil, not used alone.
