Another Newbie??

Hi all, I have been lurking for a couple of months:),and totally enjoyed reading all the post. I am not a total believer yet, but I have taken the plunge and started a measely 5 containers of perennial. (I know I have seen pictures of other winter sown plants, lets see if it works for me:)I used the containers that you get from Costco with grapes in. I put those out on 12/24, I checked on them yesterday and it seemed like there are too many holes because the soil looked really saturated. We have been having rain some in Seattle, no snow, couple days of frost. Should I be concerned and cover some of the holes up?

Thanks sweetlady
