a few lessons learned

This might seem obvious but I've learned some lessons this week. 1. If you use the duct tape around the middle of a milk jug method (or similar containers), fold back a tab of the duct tape onto intself, so that it is easier to grab and un-tape when ready to plant out. 2. Start the duct tape at the handle part, the normal part of the duct tape (not the folded over part) and TURN THE CONTAINER e.g. clockwise to easily wrap the tape around. 3. If you use paint pens to label containers, and if you re-use containers, use a different color paint pen each year. The prior year's color might be fading or just draw a line thru the name from last year. 4. Some clear juice containers (the ones that are harder to cut) have lots of squiggly lines and ridges all over them, and are virtually impossible to directly write on.

Live and learn.
