alcohol is sugar = carbon = yummy for the pile.

I have noticed that a healthy dose of beer in the pile tends to generate slime mold, its interesting.

Lots of brewers are also composters, and we put all that stuff in the pile. Spent grain (if you brew beer) has plenty of N so it needs browns with it. It's all good.

I compost beer brewing byproducts all the time. It's all great in the bin.

While alcohol can, and does, kill bacteria it is also bacteria that creates the alcohol. Amazing wee buggers since we could not exist without them. Many people compost the spent mash and mast from the fermentation process with no problem.
