Excited! Spreading the Word : )

Hi Trudi and All,

You might know that next weekend I'm teaching a class on WSing. Well, I got contacted by a gardening radio host about it, and I'm getting interviewed tomorrow morning. The host liked the WSing idea. He said something to me like that's how mother nature works. I told him it is sort of like giving her a helping hand. So he is going to interview me about it and plug the class too of course. I'm hoping I don't get nervous and blank out, lol. I want to mention here. Hopefully he asks me how it all started.

If you live near the Rochester area, I will be on the show called Naturally Green around 9 am to around 9:15 or so on WYSL 1040 AM, and it will stream live on the web at www.SavourLife.com. He said he will archive it a few days later too.

  • That was AWESOME Remy! You sounded very relaxed and confident.
The program was interesting, I didn't know you had a seed shop! Will be stopping by for a visit :)
    He's still talking about you!
    Ha Ha!
Great job, girl, can we say we knew ya back when?

    Have a lovely weekend,

  • You are sure welcome Remy! :) It was really cool to hear you talking about winter sowing and your tomatoes. Glad the word is getting spread around, Trudi, you must be tickled too!
Isn't it weird hearing yourself talk?
Looking forward to perusing your seeds, especially some of those unusual ones. I can see I'm going to be in trouble with the DH over this, thanks Remy! ;)
Have a blessed Sunday and GO COLTS GOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

  • Hey Remy,

We take a yearly trip to the Finger Lakes around October. My favorite place to stay is at the top of Lake Canandaigua. How far away are you from there? Maybe we can meet up this fall and share a glass of wine? Would love to get together if it's not too far from you. :)

  • Three cheers for Remy!!!! More applause and a toast to a job well done girl! Just think, next year this will be old hat to you!
That's a great tip, leading off with the photos first. So happy it went well, you must be really tickled!

I was talking to DH about our trip and I think we are planning to head over to the falls at some point. I saw there are lots of wineries over there- hee hee! :o
Maybe we could meet up somewhere that is closer to you.

BTW, I had a look at your trade page (oh those roses are heavenly!) and I have several zinnias, sunflowers and some others you are looking for. As well as some non-gardening stuff you might have interest in. We had an antiques booth for several years and are clearing out the basement and attic. Drop me an email when you come down off cloud nine!
Happy February 1st, spring is ON THE WAY!!!!

Is it tomorrow morning? I saved the site, look forward to hearing you! Good luck! ;)

Wow! Awesome. I hope he knows what a great person he's interviewing, and how helpful you've been to so many people with questions, including me.

Great, Remy. I know you will do a terrific interview.

    Remy:

You said, "I want to mention here. Hopefully he asks me how it all started."

He won't know to ask unless you tell him.

You will probably talk with him a bit before the interview. Give him the short version - and that people who listen will like the story. Keep it short. In the event you don't talk before the interview, write a short paragraph about what you think he needs to ask you and bring it with you.

Interviewers appreciate info and help - it makes a better interview.

    Thanks everyone!

    Pam,
Thanks for the tips. I'm going to write down a few things.

Wow, 'our' Remy is getting even more famous once again.

My computer speed hasn't been very fast lately but I've found I can hear an archived interview just fine. If I can't catch you live, I'll sure catch you later.

    Congrats!

Good for you, Remy. Get the word out there. I'm sure you'll do fine and maybe you'll be invited back. I'll try to listen to the archives, things going on Sat morning for me.

Remy, Don't think I've had the pleasure of meeting you here on this site but I wish you lots of luck with your interview.

    Whoot! You go! Have FUN~

    Shore,
Thanks, I'm glad I didn't sound like an idiot, lol. When you are talking to someone like that, "think! think!" is going through your head. You know..."unusual plants?! What unusual plants do I have?! think, think!," lol.
Cool to know he kept talking about me too : )
I don't talk about the shop on here(though some people have been nice enough to mention it) I've been coming here for years because I love talking to other gardeners. Now I own a business, but I still want to keep it that way : )
I didn't get to mention Trudi like I wanted to: ( Well, anyone who comes to the talk next Sat. will get the handout with links to here and wintersown.org.

    Hi All,
The host emailed me that the interview is now on his web site.
It is really strange to hear yourself talk! I don't sound like that at all, lol.

    Shore,
Those Colts won! And the Saints won! Now I have problems because I want them both to win, LOL.
I'm not sure Trudi saw this thread or she's real busy, because I think she would of chimed in by now.
Lol, about your DH. Mine gave up ages ago : )

    Hi Remy,

I very much enjoyed your interview! -So nice to hear your voice after 'talking' to you over email all these years. You must have been blushing after the interviewer talked you up so highly at the end there; He really, really seemed impressed by you and your sample seeds shop!

    Keep trucking,
    Susan

    BRAVO!!!!!!

    You. Totally. Rock!

    Absoulutely awesome.

    Susan,
I was really surprised! I wonder if he's has some real duds. I've seen/heard that where the interviewee says nothing but things like "yup," lol.

    Trudi,
Thanks! Hoping to make you proud : )

Remy, I am very impressed. I like the website, the bio and I love what you're doing. I've told my husband about the tomato festival you host, we've done MAGTAG three times. Tomato people are generally very good people.

    Trudi,
Maybe one of these years you two might decide to visit Niagara Falls in timing with the Tomato party : ) I agree most tomato people are very good people... still wondering why one seems to have a bit of a problem though, lol. Anyway, we do have a great time, and you know you're always welcome to join us.

    Hi Shore,
It is a bit of a drive hour and 1/2- 2 hours, but definitely let me know. I might be traveling to Rochester anyway for a meeting when you go so then it is only a little farther. It is so pretty there. I love the Finger Lakes.

Just an update... Everything went exceptionally well today. The people that came were all excited to learn about winter sowing. One lady had actually attempted it last year, but wasn't too successful so she came to learn what she might have done wrong. I had a ton of questions and got a round of applause when I was done! Everyone was talking about getting containers to try doing it when they left. Oh and you all would of been in heaven for the seed swapping part. There was big banquet table full of seeds! I also got to meet Michael, the radio host! So it was a very good day.

Remy-So glad it went so well. Seeds to a gardener is like candy to a child. I was the host to our local Garden Club last year and I talked about winter sowing and they seemed to really enjoy it. There are many who do not know anything about it yet. Glad you got to meet Michael, you did so well with the interview.

    I bet you're relieved it's over ;-)

Teaching is a bit stressful until you get going with dialogue but then the Q&A section is the best.

I'm happy for you. And bless you and thank you Remy for spreading the good word about WS and also thank you for what you do to share the joy of growing tomatoes from seed.

    Shirley,
"Seeds to a gardener is like candy to a child." You said it! There were a little over 50 women there and except for some corn seed, the table got cleared clean, lol. There were also house plant cuttings and some of those were left over. So I did bring home cool looking begonia cuttings.

    Mary,
    Thanks so much!

    Trudi,
You do get nervous! I did the right thing though and led off with the photos first. So when I went to explain how to do everything I had gotten their interest thankfully.
Thanks Trudi, I really appreciate your kind words : )
    Remy
