? re: straw mulch

For the first time this year I mulched with straw over several layers of newspaper. Our growing season is just about over and I'm wondering what to do with the straw. Do I leave it as is or dig it in? As well I have some finished compost to add. So what's the best procedure? Thanks for any help.

You can do either - leave in place to rot over the winter and till in in the spring or till it in now.

I prefer to till it in in the fall and then scatter seed some green manure crop on top to grow over the winter and till it in in the spring. Gets the best of both. ;)
