First Happy Dance!

Golden Marguerite has about 75% germination! Given what I have seen this morning I would say germination started yesterday; possibly the day before Feb 23-24th. YIPPIE!!

Vera, you have germination in your ws containers? I am also in zone 5 and my containers are all covered in snow and ice. Do you have your containers outside?

I'm pretty sure that I won't see germination for another couple of months, I sure hope I'm wrong though.

Anyway, CONGRATULATIONS! What seeds have germinated so far? This is so exciting..:)

I will have to go look at my containers ( the few I got around to so far) and see if I have any green.
I know the sun sure is warm, house stayed 70 degrees all afternoon yesterday on the South/West sides, no woodburner or heat going.
The cat and dog layed infront of the South facing upstairs patio doors all day yesterday!

congrats!! I'm also in zone 5 but like Linda with alot of snow and ice. I think it helps to have some sun on the jugs?(not much sun up here in the winter)LOL!! B

Vera, where have you been girl? : )

Congratulations on your sprouts! It's snowing right now, so I think I'll resist the temptation to go and check on my containers right now, LOL. Last year, my first sprouts showed up on March 5, so it's still a bit early here. Besides, we were much warmer by this time last year.

Glad to know your still around Vera! I've missed your posts.

Congratulations, Vera. Wondered where you'd been.

I'm not expecting to see any seedlings anytime soon. I just took this photo

Are you getting ready to move? When is the big day?

LOL! Yes, Linda the containers are outside :D
Most of snow is melted and or melting away except some of the big drifts left over from the 3 snow storms back to back and the result of plowers!
Our temperatures have been in the 40's by day and 30's at night. It rained all last night thru this very early morning. By Friday we will probably hit 50! I've had windows open almost every afternoon now for a good week :D
The daffodils have been pushing up for a bout 2 weeks, but no sign of crocus yet. Clumps of Snapdragon 'Black Prince' and still looking good at the base and the Blue Flax, grasses and Bergenia are a pretty contrast to the drab surrounding! I have also found a gazillion or so self-sown Viola, Nigella, Larkspur and Lunaria.

As for where I've been I got deep involved for the last 2 months in some new genealogy finds and also doing tons of volunteer lookups.

Oh there's hope yet, if I can only get some of the snow to melt, I may see germination soon. The nights are still pretty cold, it was down in the mid 20's last night, although yesterday wasn't too bad, it was in the 40s and a lot of snow did melt. I was actually out in the yard washing my car to get some of the salt and sand off of it.

Anyway, the worst of the winter is almost over, it should be all down hill from here! Days are getting longer and we'll be springing forward with time in a couple of weeks.

I can't wait to start seeing green again, it's been such a long winter.

    Congrats Vera!
    Wow, all you lucky ducks.
It isn't even anywhere near showing signs of spring here yet.
Going to be in the below 0's for a couple nights this coming week.
    ~sigh~
    It'll get here eventually!

    Hey Vera, way to go!!

Still sowing like crazy here and I don't expect anything to come to life until the end of March if all goes according to the last few years.

Nice to hear from you again. Don't stay away too long. It worries the rest of us!
