questions about veggies

Well, I have about 50 containers with flower seeds in the yard... I hope I did my homework right and used the correct ones for WSing, :>).... but now I am wondering about veggies??? I have read here that tomatoes with a DTM of 70 days or less should be ok sown in February here in Richmond VA, zone 7 but what about other veggies... peppers, corn, melons, lettuces, beans... I always put my onions and garlic out in the late Fall/early Winter and let them winter over until Spring, with good luck.

Spring is weird here in the last few years... I use to be able to set out my garden in late March or early April, but the last two years , due to vast amount of rain and late frosts, I have not been able to seed out until late April. This usually means things are getting going good when the extreme days of heat get going good..... WSing would be wonderful to have things sprout when they are ready and not have to harden off after that....So does any one out there have any words of wisdom as for veggies that work and when to sow for best results in my area?

Thanks to all of you ......
