Hi organicpepper, Here is a link that may or may not help you. I suppose given the right breeding conditions and some other goldfish to spur your goldfish on it would be possible to breed them. They seem to like some competition from other goldfish so it probably wouldn't matter what sex it was if you got a few of them together. The problem with that is then you already have enough goldfish. Lots of info on the web if your really serious. Good luck.

How big is the tank? Goldfish are not beginners fish, they can get BIG , for fancys think a grapefruit with fins!

Swim bladder issues most likely.

Feed shelled lukewarm peas they help with swim bladder issues that come with being deformed ( all fancy goldfish are deformed mutents that wouldn't survive in nature).

Breeding goldfish, espically fancy goldfish is advanced stuff, most fancys you get at fish stores are in fact the culls of another breeders work..

The tank is about 55g, what kind of peas(fresh,frozen, or canned)?

I feed mine frozen. You definitely dont want canned, they have too much sugar and artificial stuff in them...and fresh peas you have to cook. I usually just dump some frozen peas in a cup of warm water and let them defrost them squish the pea part out of the shell and into the tank

Fancies need excellent water conditions too. At least weekly 50% water changes. Overfilter. Fancies are tougher then they look if you have a little knowledge. You can usually tell before you buy if a fancy has balance issues. Out of all of mine (12) I only have one with any problems. I bought from a breeder and they threw her in for free. I love her and she is happy despite having to sleep on her nose:)
