Congrats on scoring something different. According to the species literature on Planet Catfish, Bagrichthys macracanthus will grow to about 9 inches. How large is yours? If I understood what is written there describing them, you have a male.

Very small, 2-3". He in a 150 gal tank. Better price on this guy, $14. I've had these years ago, they seem delicate [died from unkown causes] but I've never seen one over 5-6". Funny he stays in that one area and never moves around the tank [at least when i'm looking].

Read up on them on Planetcatfish. Interesting what feature on the fish determines gender. And here I thought it was only real, SW sharks.
