I went to the library yesterday and checked out 3 or 4 books on aquariums, each with a decent section dedicated to killies. I would say pretty much any freshwater fish book you find will have a good deal of info on them.

Here are a few tips from my personal experience:

-Keep your lid closed! Killies are great jumpers and can often be found on the floor next to the aquarium if you forget.

-If you're planning on keeping more then one in a tank make sure you have a few females for every male as they can get aggressive towards each other otherwise.

-Femlaes love to hide plants and will appreciate a tank with lots of hiding spots.

Your best bet is the AMERICAN KILLIFISH ASSOCIATION, There have been a few books out about killifish, but not many. There are some GREAT websites with some GREAT photos, just Google. If your looking to but Aquabid usually has a fair selection of fish and eggs offered. Its a great hobby I have Killi Friends all over the world.

Got home yesterday and realized my Killie had a algae eater partially digested with his tail sticking out of his mouth...Hasn't seem to digested too much more of it by today...do I need to perform a fishie-extraction?

How big is the killie?

He's probably a little over an inch...the algae eater that he ate was only slightly smaller then he is...he's a willful killie.

The killie finally did digest the algae eater...then died the next day :-(
