I have seen one worse then that Breezy! There is a guy making what he calls "flat screen tanks". These are only about a couple of inches wide,and look like a framed picture hanging on the wall. I think they would be awful for fish, with only a couple of inches of clearance there are not many fish that will be able to turn around in the "tank". How sad for the lil guys who are doomed to those tiny boxes.

bettas are commonly kept in much worse, compairatively thats not to bad.

Regarding the picture tanks so long as you have a very small fish they atleast get great lengths of straight swim space, DPs or ZDs or some thin loaches would be just fine in 2 dimensions

I just LOVE setting a betta "free" from those tiny cups. Call me crazy, but I really DO sense this moment of awe from the betta when they're put into something larger than a water glass! Like a 3 or 5 gallon tank! It's like they have no idea what to do with all that space!

And then the rewards of all those bubble nests! :)

Totally. Makes you want to buy all the bettas in the store! As far as that tank... it doesnt seem bad for very tiny fish... but mr.betta looks bored. Poor thing. Damn those trend people... especially the guy with the brilliant "flat screen" tank. What a moron.

Flat screens have got to be the most horrible things created for fish. They may be okay for say zebra danios, but no, I won't even agree with that statement... But look at the fish that are displayed in those things! They can't even turn around! I can't believe anyone would ever consider doing that to a fish, it would be like me having to live in a very narrow hallway.
