OK, real newbie here too, but you know what I did. . .

I pulled out my fave seed packs, and did a forum search, to see if others were sowing it at this time of year in my zone.

I only sowed what I saw others had done.

Now, I'll have to get back to you to let you know if it worked. . . But I can tell you that there were some seeds that went right back into the box for later.

G'nut, I'm glad you've started. Did you read through the faqs to see what winter sows well for others? Or did you post a list here of your seeds and I missed that?

Keep on going now that you've started. But for your next containers buy a bag of potting soil and use that instead of your seed starting mix. Not a critical error but you'll be happier with the potting mix.

G'nut, I've got feverfew going too. I'm thinking they'll all be OK in your zone ...

G'nut, we share a wonderful zone for lots of perennials (7). Seeds for ANY plant that is perennial in your zone 7 is fine to Wintersow. Quick peek at the seed pack will tell you the zone (s) the plant is perennial in. I found that to be the easiest guide to follow my first few years WSing. There are many hardy annuals that work as well, but you'll get there.
