I've had my Calla lilies for three years and never seen anything like this. With the exception of the first year, they've bloomed wonderfully until this summer when, for the first time, Japanese beetles attacked the buds followed by a nasty drought. They seemed to weather it in fair condition, but stopped blooming. I was out weeding the other day and noticed that what looked like it should have been a flower, was drooping almost to the ground! I picked it up to see why it was looking so odd and it was this heavy mass of things that looked like large green peas all clusterd together. They made this mass about the size of a large egg. Is there something I missed? Is this normal?? Any ideas? Thanks!
