First, they height of 5 to 6 feet is after the plant is 10 years old.

Second, these are deciduous plants. They produce new leaves each spring. They normally aren't as big and bushy as a rhododendron. The normal habit for a group of plants is:

If they are not like this you may have a soil that is not well drained enough or acidic enough or is missing a key nutrient.

Oh Thank you so much for the link and pic. The picture on the card when I bought the plant was so discieveing!!
I guess I did not understand the nature of the plant when I bought it. It looks as if even if they get to full height they will still look too bare for that side of my house. It also looks as if I can plant them all together, that is just a few feet from each other, as the pic shows so they will make more of an impact.

My azalea northern lights looks very healthy but isn't flowering [only 2 blooms] Any suggestions to help this plant out?

They need sun light soon after blooming when they are forming next years flower buds. Too much shade keeps them from setting flower buds. Also a little low nitrogen fertilizer like Hollytone may help. If you fertilize, use it at half the rate recommended on the package. Applying a little superphosphate now may help if your soil is low in phosphorus like mine is. Mine is so low in phosphorus I can't grow carrots or beets.
