What makes them "hardy" is not so much cold tolerance, it's their dormancy. If they stay dry the cold can't easily penetrate and so they can survive. If they're wet then they're done for when it gets cold. The leaf bulbils being smaller are much more sensitive to cold so they need better protection

Got them from a site called Exotic Flower Bulbs. Had previously purchased some Arisaema tortuousum from them on eBay, and was well satisfied, then found this offer on their site.

Sent them a complaint, but never heard back from them and no offer to make good

Yeah that is where I got mine also. Sent an email telling them what happened, they responded, sent a second email requesting the right item, they didn't respond.
