I have kitchen cabinets that are being put in. The two ceiling light are currently 4" in front of the 12 foot long cabinet wall. We are going to the ceiling with cherry cabinets and are moving the lights out 12" from the wall. The electrician says he cannot move the two 5" cans to the exact place I want the because that is where the joists intersect. So he is making them 4" where they are mounted directly to the drywall instead of cans. Will that be enough light? Also I am looking at putting undercount lighting and the electrician wants to know size, type and how many. Someone recco. thin florescent lights.
