I live in Scottsdale, AZ, so I am half cheating already. The desert air makes drying Bokashi bran easier.
I make all of my bran in the summer when my air conditioner is running. I built a small stand several feet over the air conditioner condenser fan. The stand has metal mesh to allow the air to blow through. On top of that, I put an old sheet with the wet bran tied in it. A zippered pillow case would work great.
After a day or two, the bran is crunchy dry. I break up the clusters and save it in sealed buckets. So far, I have not had any over-fermentation, and one batch continued to work perfectly for over two years (I ran out after that).
IMPORTANT: Make sure that the stand does not come close to restricting the air-flow of the condenser fan or you risk wearing it out prematurely. I keep mine about 4 feet above the fan, and that is still plenty of wind.
