I dont know if this helps,but I have a cart on wheels that is short.You used to buy these in the automotive department,now they are in the garden department.Be sure its the smaller one.I have fibromyalgia and I hurt all the time,but my Doctor says to keep gardening.I also have neuropathy.That is pain from the nerve endings,but I cant let it stop me from gardening.I get so much satisfaction from seeing my seeds growing,and it gets a lot of frustration out of your system.I use what they call a weeder to help loosen the dirt and then I pull the weeds.OH,yes I also wet the ground before I start to pull the weeds.Dont wet too deep the weeds roots are near the survice,so when the ground is moist they pull very easy,except the wild grass,they are a little harder.I hope this helps.I wish I could help you with your garden.I work full time and I garden when I can on the weekend.Paulette

Mulch it to death. Pile a thick layer on top of it to shut out the light: wet newspaper, cardboard, weeds, grass, leaves, hay, straw, etc.
