I have had good luck with Rattlesnakes, which in my opinion have great taste also. Romano pole peans also have great taste with good disease resistance but I had big problems with Bean Roller, the larval stage of the Long-Tailed Skipper - they left the Rattlesnake vines alone.

Have you tried Blue Lake? I've read a few people in north Alabama having luck with them. Are the Rattlesnake stringless?

I have never tried Blue Lake, though I see them recommended in boks and such. I consider Rattlesnakes virtually stringless - they have a bit of string, but not a great deal. As I snap them, there will be a bit of it on each segment that I strip off, but it's not very tough. Have I confused you enough? :-)

ive been growing blue lake for years.best tasting green bean out there imo.the only problem i ever had was one time i planted in a little too much clay.they didnt like that at all
