I planted lavender last year. Just a couple of cheap plants from WalMart. They did wonderfully and one came back this spring. I'm in east central AL.

I now have one fairly large plant I've had for several years, but a couple of others struggled and didn't make it. I think it totally depends on conditions and variety but yes, there are some varieties that will grow here.

What kind are you guys growing? I have tryed to grow Provence Lavender the last 3 years. They do great until Winter/Spring of the following year. That is when they just die on me. :(

This year I planted English Lavender. My fingers are crossed that I don't kill them.
