Flooded containers

Newbie question: this is my first time winter sowing, and I had my containers (milk jugs, etc) in larger Rubbermaid containers to protect my seeds from my nighbor's dog and other critters. Since they are reusable, and I had been using them for something else already, I didn't punch holes in the bottom of the Rubbermaid containers. My smaller containers were flooded with water- more water than soil- when I took them out of the larger containers and drained them. My question is, will my seeds still germinate, despite the soaking, or should I just try again? I'm also considering putting all my containers in my enclosed porch so they dry out more. Any thoughts/suggestions? I'm really worried my seeds won't germinate now.
