I don't grow that variety but it looks interesting.

LSU Purple Fig

"Ficus carica - Small to medium sized, purple skin with strawberry pulp. Flavor outstanding. Has better shelf life than most varieties. Well adapted to South. Has ability to fruit on new growth if top killed by winter freeze. Hardiness not established but probably hardy to 12 degrees when fully dormant (not as hardy as Celeste or Brown Turkey). Fruit does not split as badly following rains as other varieties."
