No experience with that variety but this year some of my german shallots started to sprout in the pantry in Late February so I took a chance and planted them inside in 4-cell garden packs. They started to grow quite nicely during March and at the end of the month I transplanted them to the permanent place in the garden. They took about 2 weeks to adapt to their new home and they're now about 8-10 inches tall and starting to spread.

I think you'd be fine planting them outside now ... all the rest of the alliums are in and growing and they should be able to handle the cold rain that's coming at us this weekend.

I planted them this fall outside directly in a pot. I watered the soil with quarter strength hydrogen peroxide (the soil foamed up) The next day I planted the seeds and covered with plastic wrap over the top of the pot secured with a large rubber band.
They were in shade, I did not want to cook them, just keep them moist. After they sprouted, I punctured the plastic to vent them a little. After they grew a bit more, I uncovered the pot. This worked very well for me. Oh yeah, when I planted the seed, I scratched soil over the seeds with a fork washed in hydrogen peroxide, and I misted the walls with peroxide just to reduce damp-off.
