P.S. Is "supposed" to be a dwarf nectarine...

I probably wouldn't prune this yet, lets see what others say... Maybe just snip off the top 6 inches that looks dead. (only if it is indeed dead)

i see a large yard.. why is it not in mother earth???

agree on above .... and would probably take the lowest branch just as the buds were swelling next spring ...

Ken,
I would LOVE to plant all my little guys in the ground! (nectarine, pear, pomegranate, orange, and even my tropical flower trees!) two reasons why I didn't: 1. I was unsure of hardiness as it can get into the teens on a regular basis during the winter months(they get pulled into cover), and 2. Although I am lucky enough to have a few acres, I rent and did not want to plant something, only to dig it up later (I wouldn't want to leave it there!)
But it sounds like I should wait until next spring to worry about it then? I just didn't want to let it grow and then BAM start chopping, lol, train and prune as it grows was my thinking, but then again I'm no expert!
