Did I mess up my garlic for next spring? Pls help...

I was so thrilled about the varieties I got my hands on, and I read that in September I could start planting my garlic.

I have 3'x 3' raised, boxed beds, and added epsom salt, and bone meal. Many green tops were growing already, so I trimmed them off.

Have I stunted their growth? Am I best pulling those out, and planting new cloves in October? Is there anything I can do to revert any damage?

BTW, our forecast calls for temps in teh 70s during the day, 50s to low 60s at night, in Middletown, CT.

Thanks,

Wanda
