umm... go outside and get some fresh air, I cant imagine the amount of noxious fumes would be that much. If it was, I wouldn't be doing something like that inside!

Maybe in the future don't use hard plastic, milk jugs or soda pop containers work fine.

Now I am feeling better.

No, there was not a lot of smoke coming. But there was some smell of burnt plastic.

After this experience, I decided to only use milk jugs and soda containers.

Hopefully I do not develop cancer.

You are just fine. Our bodies are simply not that delicate. Your body started healing itself the second you walked away from that smoke. The cancer cells don't have a chance!

I burn holes in my plastic containers on the stove with the fan turned on high and cut the openings with a serrated knife. I stay away from the hard plastic containers because it is difficult to cut the bottom away when I want to transplant the insides.

Mauru, I think you are doomed! lol

prolonged exposure would worry me but just doing it like your doing it should cause no harm.
Now if it was radioactive then even short term exposure would harm you. Stuff like chlorine gas is another worry oh mecury avoid that as well.
But realy small amout of fumes from burning plastic should cause you not harm, the body is a great healer.

Consider using an electric drill to make the holes in containers. No fumes. Very easy once you get up the courage to try it.
