I've grown garlic successfully for many years and have been planting the same varieties of soft and hard neck garlic for some time. This year all the soft neck garlic has green tips when you peel the bulbs. It doesn't seem to affect the taste but I assume it means they will be sprouting sooner in storage this winter.

Was it something I did in planting, harvesting or curing the garlic to cause this premature greening? (Luckily they haven't shown any sign of sprouting yet.)
