Santiago is truly wonderful and indeed it has a fragrance, at least mine has. Reminds me of black currants or something towards berries anyway. Please let us know what you think of it when the flower is fully open.

I just went to the GH and the blooms have opened more. I think that "berries" describes the scent very well. It's not like any other hippeastrum fragrance, so I wasn't quite sure how to refer to it. I think my H. Jewel smells like chocolate!

Ok, it definitely has a scent but it doesn't smell like berries to me - so I asked the family and we agreed it smells (lightly - you have to get right up to it) pungent like a weed that grows around here. Obviously the two of you got the nice berry smelling ones :)
