Amies like Easter eggs!

Here are my amaryllis in my office window this week. I am enjoying the intense colors and the mixture of colors and patterns so much! Not many more buds to go now, but springtime is so slow coming this year. I was just teasing my garden partner today, as we delivered 2 beautiful arrangements with amies in them. I reminded her that she thought I was foolish to order amies that would bloom after February because we would have so many outside flowers. (Not this year!)

One customer got Rembrandt and Giraffe snuggled into a great cloud of green hellebores and miniature daffodils, for a St Patricks Day arrangement. The other one got a pre-Easter one featuring Pink Surprise and Desire with white wild cherry blossoms, pink plum blossoms, peach and hot pink tulips, Ice Follies daffodils, and a purple hyacinth.

Sorry I Forgot to take pics of them.

But here is my own special joy {{gwi:387212}}.

They are Pink Surprise, Benifica, Desire, Bolero,(a barely visable)Aphrodite, and what I think is Temptation. Also, down low and to the left is one last little half formed flower on Orange Souverein that came along after the other 3 had finished blooming!

I am going to miss these guys when they go to take their nap!

They are all lovely. I have to buy, beg ,borow or steel a pink. I dont have any.

Lizalily, they're all gorgeous... and they look positively wonderful all together! What a show! And I can just imagine those lovely bouquets... spring does seem late, although, it's only March!

Arif, I would be happy to help you get a pink, but none of my pinks gave me seeds this year... the closest I can get would be some seeds from Charisma x self... if you are interested, email me, and I'll send you some!

Arif, I can heartily recommend Pink Surprise if there is any way to get it. I might have seeds of Pink Surprise and something...I will have to check the tag on my newest ripe seed pod. The others are all planted now. I could also try crossing Bolero with Pink Surprise if I hurry! Yes, I think I will do that one and we will see! If I get good seeds I would be glad to send some. Oh yes, I could try to self Pink Surprise too. I will do those today.

STUNNING Liza! What a beautiful display!!

Arif, I have a mess of seeds with some pinks. I also have a bulblet on my Candy Floss that is getting large and pulling away from the Mother. You are most welcome to it. It is a pretty pink medium size flower with red emanating from the center green and white star. I would love to share with you. I can also send you a "Lil Pinkie" 2 yr old seedling from Miss Lora's propagations. Send me your address.

Lora, my dear, I have sooooo many seeds from my pollination adventures this year. I would be glad to send you a plethora of them. You were one of the people so instrumental in teaching me how to pollinate to begin with. Your Lil Pinkie seedlings are my healthiest babies! They are growing so well I hope to get some flowers in the next year(Photo promised) I need to separate the 4 healthy seedlings soon and give them their own space! I also have a pollen concoction(thanks to Soultan's idea) of all kinds of different species pollen mixed together. I just harvested a large Novella pod from the mixed pollen. I can also send you a little packet of pollen magic as well. I don't have your address sweetie so emain me.

To everyone else. Sorry I haven't spoken up in a while. Dennis is doing good-Ups and Downs, more downs this week. We are going to get through this though, I know. He is my life and I can't go on if I can't make sure he does. Minor setbacks. We are both strong and have very strong faith in God and ourselves. It just pains me and breaks my heart to see him hurting, BUT he is mending. Chemo has been put off until he gets his strength back. (Sorry to have railroaded this post with this news-just wanted to update those of you who love us like family) God bless, Garden On!!!

Happy Late Easter ya'll. =) Pink Floyd and Germa are in bloom right now and resemble pink and yellow peeps. I wish I had taken pictures earlier in the day because the pictures do not do justice to the intense coloring of these beautiful blooms. Enjoy!

Liza - I am green with envy of your Easter display! What a gorgeous window full of flowers.

Cindee, you can borrow my posts anytime! I am sorry Dennis is hurting so much...seems like with any surgery this time is kind of a downer, when the euphoria of "success" wears off and the reality of pain and patience in healing settle in,along with the reality that there are no instant fixes. I hope in another week he will be feeling better and finding some of his strength returning. IN the meantime, soldier on with your ranks of flowers for support!
And if he gets grumpy, it is quite all right to sweetly leave and go work on your flowers until he misses you, LOL.

All my best to the two of you!

Cindee - It's very good to see you post, and to hear news of you guys... we do miss you, but we also know that you need to be elsewhere right now... we'll leave the light on for you...

I'm glad to hear that Dennis is doing ok... please make sure you take care of yourself, too! We worry, you know... we do love you like family! Prayers continue...

Paxfleur - Those are the two perfect flowers to have open for Easter! Pretty pastel spring colors and that trumpet shape... perfect for this time of year! They're both beautiful!

Oh now I am so excited to see my pink Floyd bloom! I do not know when that will be, however!

Oh Pax, those are such dainty and beautiful and YUMMY blooms. They look edible for sure, just like peeps!! I like mine stale or frozen, by the way!

Thanks Liza and Jodi and all of you. (Liza-I ain't forgot ya, the dwarf pink Poinciana took a blow after a cold spell we had-I am nursing it before I send it) This has beena 'tough love' week with Dennis. I swear I want to slap him out of his depression, but he is doing much MUCH better today and tonight he went to sleep in the BIG BED. This is the first night, after his surgery, he wanted to sleep in OUR bed, not on the recliner and not in the spare bedroom. His daughter gave him a real tough love talk today, too, and he is snapping out of his 'poor me'. Love you guys. That which does not kill us only makes us stronger....YA RIGHT,,,,lol!

Oh Good for Dennis's daughter! Isn't that why we have kids, LOL! Mine do not let me get away with anything....and I have no one to blame but myself!

Hope you get some good hugs and snuggles in the BIG BED tonight!

    Paxfleur,

Your photos (along with Jodi's of Germa) made me take pen to paper and add Pink Floyd and Germa to the top of my wish list. I cannot wait to nurture these ethereal treasures.

    TYFS!

Cindee - my apologies for being so derelict in wishing Dennis all my best -- actually both of you. Was not on for a few days and didn't even realize he had had surgery. I'm sorry he's hurting and wish him a quick recovery. Hang in there. I'm glad you live down there where it's warm.

To everyone - Just love those pretty pictures. Thanks to everybody for posting. I simply cannot tell you all how much I appreciate seeing these gorgeous blooms. I got addicted back in 1999 or 2000 when I bought a ton of bulbs from Garden.com as they were going out of business. They were the really good ones like Snow White. Then they rotted from the rain here in NJ (the "Garden State" - ha!) and I ended up with very small bulbs. They just kinda hung out for a few years because I got discouraged, but last summer I took really good care of them and it shows. With all of your "help" I'm more addicted than ever and have close to 200 bulbs (small ones included) so I'm like a runaway train now. Someday, as they bloom, I'll have spares to share (i.e., there's a whole pot of several) - just need to confirm what they are. My new Pink Floyd is just sitting there sleeping, but someday he'll wake up and smile at me.

Jodi (and others whose bulbs are growing now) - Keep up with their feeding schedule and keep checking in and adding to your "long" list as you see ones you would like to order in the fall.

Cindee - I'm praying very hard and loud, and God has never let me down before! Dennis will be fine... time, faith, love and family can heal most anything! Just don't forget to take care of YOU! We tend to forget ourselves when we're needed... but it's very important to take a minute or two, and a deep breath, and be good to ourselves. We all matter! :-)

Blanca - I found my Germa bulbs on eBay... I got two of them, and they're pretty small. I've learned that they prefer to be on the dry side compared to most other hippis... I only bottom water them, and only when they're pretty dry! So far, they seem to be doing well... I believe it was Lora who posted a few pointers for growing Germa... thanks, Lora!

Kitty - I plan on bringing the majority of my bulb collection outdoors for the summer... they'll be well-fed and cared for... I want to do all in my power to assure beautiful blooms for next year! I'm armed with loads of growing tips, thanks to everyone here who has contributed since I've been posting... As long as the weather is decent, I think my bulbs will all fatten up and set buds, and then rest upon coming back inside in fall. If all goes well, next spring should be very colorful!
