Kitchen island design repair

I recently had a kitchen island added and the contractor failed to complete the project correctly. The sides and back were left as unfinished plywood - instead of a veneer or a "skin". What ideas are out there to finish this up?

    Your contractor should have ordered wood panels in the same stain as the cabinets
    when he ordered your cabinets. They would have been made in a size to cover the end of the island and the back side of it. Look at how your lower cabinet, to right of the island in the photo, ends. You did say that he left bare plywood there, didn't you?
