I'm near Cincinnati. I'll start watching the weather forecast in April and uncover(sometimes temporarily...) depending on the predicted temps. Mine are just covered with pine needles & no plastic, so its pretty easy. If we get a string of warm days, I'll let them "breathe" & watch for new pups. Old nasty looking puesdostems often will quickly "regrow" a stem much like a kaleidoscope. The key is took protect any new pups from frosty nights. If you still have a puesdostem, you'll want to cover it on cold nights as well. IMO, its hard to kill them...

I meant to say telescope...not kaleidoscope (that'd be a different plant lol).

On Long Island, I usually don't completely uncover mine until mid-April. However, I had them temporarily uncovered during the day last weekend as we experienced temps near 60 degrees.
